Given time, AC fittings will loosen, o-rings, hoses and seals will wear out. Regular maintenance on your AC system will keep it performing the way it should. AC Services include: Coolant topped of or replaced. Coolant will lose its effectiveness due to exposure to the extreme heat of the engine, road debris, dirt, vibrations, quick stops, and even run-ins with curbs.
Compressor checked for leaks or clogging. The AC’s compressor can’t create a high enough pressure to properly cool the refrigerant. This could be caused by a clog or block in the system, or the unit has developed cracks (no matter how small) that allows the refrigerant to escape.
Cooling fan inspected and replaced as necessary. The cooling fans could be burned out, poorly mounted, a fan blade chipped, or there is a blown fuse or burnt-out relay.
Electrical issues. An electrical problem could be sending a faulty signal caused by a broken wire, bad module, or bad sensors.
